What the F…
I did not expect to start a blog writing about my personal experiences and findings within Buddhism and other spiritual matters, but here we are. So, how did it all start?
My wife and I recently had a tarot session. During the session, I was urged to work on opening up more to other people and to share my experiences. The message was that my throat chakra is blocked and needs work. The Tarot reader suggested that I start a blog, but I was still not sure.
Asking an ancient book for advice
In the next few days, I came across Substack and found the platform to be quite cool, and it was easy to get started. So, I thought about it a little more and warmed up more and more to the idea of writing on the platform. However, I was still in doubt whether I should get started on this endeavor. So, I did what I have been doing for the past year since I learned about it. I consulted the I Ching, an ancient book!
Entering I Ching…
The I Ching (or "Yi Ching") is an ancient Chinese book that is believed to be thousands of years old. Its title translates to "The Book of Changes" in English. While many might find it ridiculous to seek guidance from an ancient book, I have found it to be extremely helpful in my own experiences. At times when my doubts would override my intuition, I have turned to the I Ching for clear answers, and it has never failed to assist me.
How does it work?
YTo form a hexagram, you cast coins. The I Ching comprises 64 hexagrams, each with a unique meaning. Additionally, each hexagram has six lines that, when viewed individually, hold their own unique information. If you want to try it for yourself, you can use this website:

When I have a question that I really want an answer to, I approach it with sincerity. Then, I wait for any sensations in my body that will indicate whether or not I have received a confirmation. It's difficult to explain, but I typically feel a tickling sensation on the top of my head. Once this happens, I am ready to cast the coins.
Hexagram 42 - Lines 1 & 4
Going back to my question: Should I start this page?
The result was quite straightforward. My result was Hexagram 42, which can be translated as "Increase" or "Benefiting," with particular emphasis on lines 1 and 4. Here's the description that came with the result:
42.”Benefiting”
Line 1:
Advantageous for performing big works.
A source of good fortune, without fault.
The situation is advantageous for taking on big things. This will provide future benefit. It is not wrong to do so.
Line 4:
Target Action,
speaking openly,
and compliance,
are beneficial so as to handle reliably the moving of the capital city.
moving someplace else. To help things go reliably, it is a good idea to really go for it, inform everyone involved openly, and to comply with regulations.
The result from the first line alone made it quite clear that I should jump into it and get started. There were no warnings, only positive reinforcement. Thank you so much, I Ching. I also felt a deep connection reading line 4, as my wife and I feel that 2023 will bring a lot of new beginnings for us, including finding a new place to live.
And that's how it all began – with the first post on my brand-new page, all thanks to a tarot reader and an ancient book. It's incredible how the world works.
